Inveterate vs Subscribfy: Honest 2026 Comparison

Both run paid memberships with store credit on Shopify. The real differences are in pricing mechanics, scope and who builds the program with you.

If you are comparing Inveterate vs Subscribfy, you have already made the important decision: you want a paid membership, not another points program. Good. Both platforms are built around the same idea. A member pays a fee, gets store credit and perks, and shops more because the money already sits in their account.

So this is not a “which model works” article. It is a “which platform fits your store” article, written by one of the two platforms. We will be upfront about where Inveterate is the better pick.

Inveterate vs Subscribfy: what is the difference?

Inveterate is a membership and loyalty platform priced by your store’s monthly order volume. Subscribfy is an all-in-one retention platform, membership, loyalty, subscriptions, wallet pass and chargeback prevention, priced by a monthly plan plus a fee per membership transaction, with a team that designs and launches the program for you.

Inveterate’s published pricing page lists four levels. Free is $0 a month for up to 50 members, with a 10% revenue share. Starter is $500 a month for stores doing up to 1,500 orders a month. Growth is $1,000 a month for up to 3,000 orders a month, with strategic onboarding and a dedicated strategy team. Paid plans carry zero revenue share.

Subscribfy’s pricing works differently. Pro is $199 a month plus 1.49% and 25¢ per membership transaction. Elite is $499 a month plus 1.25% and 19¢ per membership transaction, with white-glove onboarding and dedicated development and growth support. A $0 Starter tier covers stores with up to 100 active subscribers and no transaction fees.

Inveterate vs Subscribfy pricing: which is cheaper?

It depends on what grows faster in your store: total orders or members. Inveterate’s price rises with store order volume, whatever your membership size. Subscribfy’s rises with membership charges. A brand with modest order volume and a large membership can find Inveterate cheaper; a high-volume store with a growing membership usually does not.

Here is a worked example. Take a store doing 2,500 orders a month with 1,000 members paying $30 a month, so $30,000 in monthly membership fees.

  • Inveterate: 2,500 orders sits in the Growth tier. $1,000 a month, flat.

  • Subscribfy Pro: $199 + 1.49% of $30,000 ($447) + 25¢ × 1,000 charges ($250) = $896 a month.

  • Subscribfy Elite: $499 + 1.25% of $30,000 ($375) + 19¢ × 1,000 ($190) = $1,064 a month.

At that size, the bills are close. Now change one number. If the same store grows to 4,000 orders a month, it passes the 3,000-order limit on Inveterate’s Growth plan, and the pricing page we reviewed does not list a price above that. Subscribfy’s bill does not move with store orders, only with membership charges.

The reverse also holds, and this is where Inveterate wins. A store with 1,200 orders a month and 3,000 members paying $40 would pay $500 on Inveterate Starter. On Subscribfy Elite, the same membership would cost $499 + $1,500 + $570 = $2,569. If your membership is large relative to your order volume, Inveterate’s flat pricing is hard to beat.

Do Inveterate and Subscribfy use the same store credit model?

Largely, yes. Both let members pay a fee and receive store credit, and Inveterate’s own site shows an example of members paying $40 a month for $40 in credit. The differences are in what surrounds the credit: tier structures, perks and how the program connects to loyalty and subscriptions.

Inveterate’s help center describes paid tiers, free tiers, one-time “lifetime” tiers, spend-based tiers and free trials. That flexibility suits brands that want to tier customers heavily.

Subscribfy starts from the credit-first model our founders ran at Adore Me for ten years, where credit equal to the fee is the anchor and perks sit on top: percentage discounts, early access, free shipping, member-only products, gifts. The numbers behind it are in our case studies. Dossier+ members show a 144% higher LTV than non-members, with 48% of shoppers opting in at checkout. Tres Colori now generates 50% of its total revenue from members, in jewelry, a category with no natural repeat logic.

Credit works differently from points because the member paid for it upfront. A points reward arrives after the purchase, and some of it is simply never used: Antavo’s 2026 Global Customer Loyalty Report found that over a quarter of loyalty points go unspent. That difference in timing is why store credit memberships work, on either platform.

When should you choose Inveterate?

Choose Inveterate if your order volume sits comfortably inside its tiers, your membership is large relative to that volume, you want flat and predictable pricing, and you plan to run the program with your own team.

It is also a reasonable way to test the model. The free plan lets you run a real paid membership for up to 50 members before committing, as long as you accept the 10% revenue share.

When should you choose Subscribfy?

Choose Subscribfy if you want membership, loyalty and subscriptions in one platform instead of three apps, if your order volume is growing past mid-market tiers, or if you want an operator team to design the program, the mockups and the email flows with you.

Three things matter most in practice:

  1. One platform. Loyalty is included free for membership clients, and the subscription fee is waived. Members who pay to belong and also earn points are the hardest customers to lose.

  2. Native Shopify checkout. No redirect, no external checkout pages.

  3. Launch support. A typical launch takes two to three weeks, with white-glove onboarding on Elite, including program design based on your own KPIs.

Pricing aside, the question to ask any vendor is: who designs the program? A membership priced wrong or pitched badly at checkout fails on any platform.
