How Subscribfy merchants collect SMS consent from their customers
Overview
Subscribfy is a subscription management platform for e-commerce merchants on Shopify. We enable merchants to send SMS billing reminders to customers who have explicitly opted in to receive SMS notifications.
Important: Messages are ONLY sent to customers whose Shopify record shows active SMS consent. No SMS opt-in request messages are sent.
How Customers Opt-In
Shopify Checkout
During purchase, customers see an SMS marketing consent checkbox. By checking this box, they agree to receive SMS notifications including billing reminders and subscription updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data
rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
2. Customer Account Settings
In their Shopify account under Communication Preferences, customers can enable SMS notifications for billing reminders and subscription updates.
3. Customer Portal
In the Subscribfy self-service portal, customers can enable SMS reminders before subscription renewals.
Message Examples
• Billing Reminder: "Hi Sarah, your Vitamin Bundle ($45.00) renews Feb 3. Reply SKIP, DELAY, or CANCEL. Reply STOP to opt out."
• Payment Confirmation: "Your payment method was updated. Next billing: Mar 15. Reply STOP to opt out."
• Shipping: "Your order shipped! Reply STOP to opt out."
Opt-Out
Reply STOP to any message, or disable SMS in account settings. Keywords: STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT
